Not all of these series are finished, but they're ones I've neglected to continue so far. Some of these, I'm a little ashamed of and some I haven't finished by choice.
1. Angelfire Series by Courtney Allison Moulton
I was DYING to read
Wings of the Wicked. Actually, I only picked up
Angelfire because everyone was raving about
Wings of the Wicked. I even bought it immediately when it came out. But for some reason, I just haven't read it yet.
2. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
I jumped on the VA bandwagon a little late. I own the entire series and I've only read the first one. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to keep reading or not.
3. The Body Finder Series by Kimberly Derting
Not a huge fan of murder mysteries, but I LOVED Jay. So I'm still a bit on the fence if I want to go on or not. I might just to see what happens with Violet and Jay.
4. Eve by Anna Carey
Not gonna lie. I didn't like book 1, so I don't think I'll be finishing this series.
5. Matched by Allie Condy
I didn't care for
Matched, so I'm not going to keep reading the series. Which is a bummer, because the premise is awesome.
6. House of Night by P.C. & Kristin Cast
I stopped after...I forget which book. The series started to drag on a little long for me. I love the characters, but I sadly lost interest. Maybe I'll finish one day, but it's not a priority.
7. Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snickett
I know! Terrible. I read all but the LAST book. Clearly something is wrong with me.
8. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
I have a perfectly good explanation for this one - I'm waiting for the paperback.
9. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
I have no excuse. I have the book it just hasn't happened yet.
10. Fallen by Lauren Kate
Ok. So people who have read this series - would I be lost if I skipped book three? Probably a dumb question. But I loved the first two books and I want to keep going with this story so badly, but for some reason I couldn't get into book three. Advice?
I havne't finished the Body Finder series, either. It was too scary for me. I'm actually glad to see that I am not the only person who starts but doesn't finish many series.
ReplyDeleteI have a few of these on my list as well. I'm definitely seeing trends in some of the books this week.
ReplyDeleteI love A Series of Unfortune Events as well and I have yet to finish the series for unknown reasons as well.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I'm surprised to see VA. And for the Fallen...honestly if I were you I'd skip third book. I have first two and the last book, but I won't buy third any time soon. I was annoying.
ReplyDeleteThis is My Top Ten
We are on the same page as Matched. I did not quite like it as much as the other dystopian YAs I've read. And you reminded me about Series of Unfortunate Events! I'm only up until the 3rd book. There is like what, 13? 15? :)
ReplyDeleteI broke up with HoN after book 4 or 5, I think. We weren't meant to be at all. I'm with you on Eve too!

The covers for Across the Universe series are gorgeous but yeah, haven't read it myself yet
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT for this week =)
I haven't finished House of Night, Vampire Academy, or the Body Finder series, either (and probably won't). Oh, but do read The End sometime-- the last Series of Unfortunate Events book. It helps everything to make since, and was a surprisingly emotional read, for me. Hope you like it.

1) Angelfire - Didn't like it, so it went into the Dropped Series Graveyard.
ReplyDelete2) VA - This is on my list too. I must finish!
3) Bodyfinder - haven't even started yet, but I won a copy of The Last Echo, so I have to read it at some point!
4) Eve - Once is just like Eve, so you're not missing anything.
5) Matched - I read like three pages of Crossed and was like I CAN'T.
6) House of Night - UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
7) I don't even know how far I got in Lemony Snicket.
8) Perfect Chemistry - Haven't read yet.
9) Across the Universe - A Million Suns is even better!
10) Fallen - I might try to avoid that whole mess.
I am behind a book in The Body Finder series. I also love Jay but I am big into murder mysteries too and plan on continuing. If you didn't like Matched then it is pretty certain you wouldn't like the sequel. I personally liked the first book but Crossed was a little on the boring side in comparison. Great list! :)

I'm also having troubles with Passion.. Can't get into it!
ReplyDeleteAcross the Universe, Eve, Matched, Bodyfinder, VA, Angelfire; all on my list. I have almost every book from VA, but I just haven't got the time to start. So little time huh..
My top 10 Tuesday.
Matched didn't really capture me either. I found the writing style a bit bland and the love triangle boring. I'm excited for Across the universe, though! Here's Ours
ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you mean by the Matched series. I thought Matched was a bit 'meh' but then, after reading the second book, the sequel is much better in my opinion...
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Academy series gets better after the first... well at least I think so. And I think the Perfect Chemistry series is all out on paperback. (: Great list!

I read the first two House of Night books when I was researching for my thesis on teen vampire romances. Started out great, but then the main character made some dumb choices that I couldn't get behind, the thing with her roommate (if you got that far, don't wanna put out spoilers), some kind of predictable plot twists... Yeah, I just couldn't keep going.
ReplyDeleteMatched is popular this week!! Definitely NOT planning on reading it. I am planning on reading the Perfect Chemistry books though. That girl on the Vampire Academy book 1 looks so much like a young Angelina Jolie, everytime I see it I think it's for one of her old movies lol!

You've done better than me on the Lemony Snicket series. I only read the first three! I'll get to thirteen eventually! My top ten post:

I never finished VA, The Body Finder, Matched, Fallen, or HofN series either... (nor do I want to...) I am finishing Anglefire...someday...
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly at the same place you are with A series of Unfortunate Events. Have the first 12, never got around to reading 13...
